Why I Left the Gym — And What Makes My Approach Different

One of the biggest reasons I stepped away from working in traditional gyms was the rigid cancellation policies. At most gyms, clients have to cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. Life doesn’t always work that way.

I saw too many of my regulars stressed out or losing money over missed sessions they couldn’t control — and eventually dropping out of training altogether. It didn’t sit right with me.

So I decided to change the way I do things.

Now, if you need to cancel last minute, you won’t be charged. Of course, most clients still give me a heads-up the night before — and I appreciate that — but I also understand that sometimes things just come up. If late cancellations become a pattern, we’ll talk about it and figure out a plan that works for both of us. No judgment, just solutions.

Another way I’ve simplified the experience: you don’t pay upfront. No confusing package deals or tracking how many sessions you have left. At the end of each month, we tally up your completed sessions and that’s what you pay for. Simple.

Going on vacation? Taking time off for the holidays? Please do. Just let me know a couple weeks in advance so I can plan accordingly.

This approach is based on mutual respect and trust. You have a life — and training with me should fit into it, not the other way around.

What to Expect in a Typical Session

Each session follows a purposeful flow to support your goals, improve performance, and prevent injury:

  1. Dynamic Warm-Up – Prepare your body and mind for movement
  2. Core & Correctives – Address areas of weakness, pain, or injury
  3. Meat & Potatoes – The main working block, customized to your goals
  4. Assisted Stretching – Wind down and restore range of motion

Sessions are choreographed to last 55–60 minutes, ensuring you get the most out of every minute — without feeling rushed or overextended.

Session Pricing & Structure

Each personal training session is 60 minutes and designed to deliver maximum value — physically and mentally. If you’re looking for shorter or longer sessions, just let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs.

Weekly Training Rates:

  • Once a week – $130 per session
  • Twice a week – $120 per session
  • Three times a week – $110 per session

Note: These rates apply to clients who train on a consistent weekly basis. Sporadic or “every other week” schedules fall outside of this structure and may be priced differently.
